Cardi B has officially made history. The Bronx-born rap star’s new album Am I the Drama? has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, moving an impressive 200,000 first-week units. Of that total, 110,000 came from streaming activity—equating to 145.72 million on-demand streams—while 88,000 were from pure sales.

The achievement makes Cardi B the first female rapper ever to have both her debut and sophomore albums enter the chart at No. 1. Her 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy, previously opened with 255,000 units.

Am I the Drama? also boasts the highest first-week sales for any female rapper this year and ranks fourth among all rappers in 2025, trailing only Playboi Carti, Drake, and Travis Scott.

Historically, the project sits 11th among all-time female rap debuts, behind Lauryn Hill, Nicki Minaj, and Missy Elliott. Should it hold its spot for a second week, Cardi would be the first female rapper since Hill in 1998 to top the Billboard 200 for consecutive weeks.

Adding to her wins, the album has already been certified platinum by the RIAA, propelled by multi-platinum singles “WAP” and “Up.” Cardi’s dominance continues—proof that she’s not just part of the conversation, but the headline itself.
