From the Rap Game to Vice City: Kodak Black’s GTA VI Appearance Has Fans Talking
Kodak Black has never been an artist who blends into the background, and now it looks like his unmistakable presence is making its way into the gaming world. The Florida rapper is generating buzz after new screenshots from Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI appeared to reveal a character modeled after him, giving fans another reason to connect his real-life identity with the fictional streets of Vice City.
The newly released images show a tattooed man surrounded by women in a nightclub setting. Fans quickly began pointing out the resemblance to Kodak, highlighting his distinctive hairstyle, facial tattoos, and overall appearance. The identification has also been reported by gaming outlets, although Rockstar has not officially explained the character’s role or confirmed whether he appears as himself.
This development follows an earlier announcement that Kodak’s music would be featured in the game. During an interview with DAZED, Rockstar discussed its appreciation for Miami music, mentioning Kodak alongside Sexyy Red as artists representing more contemporary sounds connected to the region. His track “Skrilla” also appeared in the game’s extended promotional footage, further strengthening his connection to the project.
For Kodak, the potential character appearance feels like a natural fit. Born and raised in Florida, the rapper has built his identity around the culture, slang, experiences, and musical influences of the Sunshine State. His records, including “Super Gremlin,” “No Flockin,” and “Zeze,” have helped establish him as one of the most recognizable voices to emerge from the region.
Rockstar has a long history of incorporating real musicians and hip-hop culture into its games, making this crossover particularly exciting for fans. However, details about Kodak’s character, including whether he has dialogue or a larger role in the storyline, remain unknown.
With his music already connected to the soundtrack and a possible character appearance generating conversation, Kodak Black is adding another interesting milestone to his career. Vice City might be fictional, but its Florida energy clearly has room for Yak.
