Interviewer: Today, we have the pleasure of sitting down with the dynamic artist, October Jonez, hailing from Columbus, OH. Thank you for joining us, October. Let’s dive into the highlights of your remarkable career.

October Jonez: Thank you for having me.

Interviewer: Your musical journey began with your roots in The OJ Experience. Can you share with us how that debut project marked the initial step in your promising career?

October Jonez: Absolutely. The OJ Experience was a significant milestone for me. It laid the foundation for my career as a rapper and songwriter. It was my way of introducing myself to the world and showcasing my artistic style.

Interviewer: Your versatility in the world of alternative hip-hop and R&B is evident in your latest release, The Biggest Player: Deluxe. How do you approach blending these genres, and what do you hope to convey with your unique sound?

October Jonez: I’ve always been inspired by artists like Michael Jackson and Snoop Dogg, and their influence plays a big role in my music. I aim to create a sound that resonates with a diverse audience, bringing together elements of alternative hip-hop and R&B in a way that feels authentic to me.

Interviewer: It’s clear that collaboration is essential to your artistic journey. Your work with Elliott Trent is a great example. How does collaborating with other talents contribute to your growth as an artist?

October Jonez: Collaborating with other talented artists allows me to explore new dimensions of my craft. Elliott Trent and I share a creative synergy that brings out the best in both of us. It’s all about pushing boundaries and expanding my artistic horizons.

Interviewer: You mentioned Michael Jackson and Snoop Dogg as inspirations. Is there any artist, past or present, that you would love to collaborate with, even if just in spirit?

October Jonez: Definitely, I have a deep appreciation for the golden era of hip-hop, and it would be a dream to work with the late Notorious B.I.G. His impact on the genre is undeniable, and collaborating with him, even in spirit, would be an incredible experience.

Interviewer: Your commitment to remaining independent in an industry often dominated by record labels is commendable. How has this decision shaped your artistic journey, and what does creative freedom mean to you?

October Jonez: Staying independent allows me to pave my own way in the industry. It’s about maintaining creative control and having the freedom to express myself authentically. It’s a dedication to my craft and a commitment to staying true to who I am as an artist.

Interviewer: Family seems to play a crucial role in your journey. How has their unwavering support fueled your progression in the competitive music landscape?

October Jonez: My family is my rock. Their support gives me the strength to navigate the challenges of the music industry. It’s a constant source of motivation, knowing that I have a solid foundation of support behind me.

Interviewer: Your hands-on approach to not only writing your material but also shaping your music video concepts speaks to your dedication to creating a holistic artistic experience. Can you elaborate on the importance of this hands-on approach?

October Jonez: For me, it’s about delivering a complete artistic package to my audience. Writing the music is just one part of the process. Shaping the visuals that accompany the music adds another layer to the storytelling. It’s about creating an immersive experience that resonates with the audience on multiple levels.
