Victoria Monét is keeping busy with unexpected side quests as fans await her next album. On Friday night (January 2), the Grammy-winning singer made a surprise appearance on Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown’s Twitch stream, where the two shared a playful salsa dancing session that quickly caught fans’ attention.
The moment took place in Los Angeles, with Monét dressed in a sleek black dress as the duo danced to Willie Colón and Héctor Lavoe’s classic “Todo Tiene Su Final.” Brown confidently led the routine, guiding Monét into an outside turn before adding a quick spin of his own.
“Oh!” Monét exclaimed mid-dance, clearly impressed. “Come on!” Brown replied before jokingly declaring, “I’m done.”
Later that evening, Monét took to Instagram Stories to reflect on the moment. “That was so fun! Jaylen Brown, thank you for having me,” she wrote. She also gave credit to their instructor, Raul Santiago, calling him an “excellent teacher.”
While Monét’s dance skills are no surprise to anyone who’s seen her perform live, fans were stunned to see Brown step so smoothly into salsa mode. “This is so random, but I love it,” one commenter wrote. Another joked, “Mind you… this the same man averaging 30 points per game.”
The unexpected pairing sparked plenty of excitement, with several fans calling for the duo to appear on “Dancing With the Stars.” Others simply marveled at Monét’s versatility. “How is she so talented at everything?” one fan commented. “Love her!”
Earlier that day, Monét spoke with REVOLT about her passion for performance and movement. “I’m very much an advocate for dance and entertainment,” she said, emphasizing her appreciation for artists who put effort into creating a full visual spectacle. At the same time, she noted her respect for vocalists who let their voices do all the work, calling it a powerful tradition within Black music.
Whether on stage, online, or in a spontaneous salsa lesson, Victoria Monét continues to prove that her artistry goes far beyond the recording booth.
