The rising influential rapper Q-Towne, who now lives in Los Angeles, California, is set to deliver a surprise performance of his brand new single “KING” at the 2021 BET Awards Experience Weekend in Atlanta, Georgia on June 26th. Which comes less than a decade after he was forced to relocate from the city of Atlanta; where he had resided for over 10 years. He was forced to leave after his friend (and roommate) mysteriously stopped paying their portion of the rent. Which, inevitably, led to the both of them being evicted and thrown out on the streets. This would end up being the lowest point in the young rappers life, due to the fact that any family that he once had in the state of Georgia, had all moved away and started lives in other states. This left Q-Towne alone, homeless, and with very few options as far as planning a sustainable future for himself. After couch surfing between other friends for months, and still not having a solid foundation to build on; Q-Towne made the decision to relocate to Los Angeles, California. Where his mother now resided, and had promised him that he would be able to find many opportunities in whatever field he chose to work in; whether it be the music industry or corporate America. So he packed whatever belongings he could fit into his 2-door Honda Accord, and took the nearly 3 day drive to Los Angeles; leaving everything else behind. After arriving in Los Angeles, Q-Towne continued to struggle for years. Going back and forth between living in his car, and staying in one and two star motels. With Los Angeles being one of the most expensive cities in the entire nation to live in, even the cheapest forms of permanent housing would not allow him to reside there with an eviction on his record. After 7+ years of struggling to find housing, the eviction has finally fallen off of his record; leaving him free to reside wherever he can afford to. And during that time he worked several jobs in several different industries: from working at the airport, to telemarketing, and being an extra on tv, in movies, and on music video sets. He always kept his love for music though. He kept working on his craft, and always knew that one day he would become a full-time artist. In 2020, after the pandemic hit, Q-Towne decided that he would no longer work for other people. And went into business for himself by starting his own record label (HomeTowne Entertainment) and releasing his own music under it. Which has led him to being selected to perform at The 2021 BET Awards Experience Weekend. Q-Towne now lives in a Downtown Los Angeles loft with a rooftop balcony overlooking the city. This is very comfortable to him having struggled for so many years. When asked how he feels about being selected to perform for such an exclusive event as The BET Awards, he responded, “Thankful” and “Blessed”. Which all just goes to show that dreams do come true. Because even after struggling for so many years, he always kept his dream in his heart. He never stopped having faith that it would, one day, become reality. And now it finally is. Q-Towne’s brand new single “KING” is now available to stream on all major music streaming platforms.
