Walt Anderson’s big break started when he left college after his second semester to appear on MTV’s & P. Diddy’s Making the Band II season 1. Walt finished as one of the top 10 finalists. He remained on the TV show for the full season 1.

Following this accomplishment, Walt embarked on a solo music career and released an EP titled The Compilation, a musical collection that reflects all of Walt’s varied influences. (https://www.amazon.com/Compilation-Walt-Anderson/dp/B000CAK2UQ)

Walt Anderson’s name started to become popular between music executives and artists, which turned into a big number of opportunities for him. Walt has headlined and opened tours with various artists such as John Legend, Jeremih, Miguel, Ashanti, Wyclef Jean, and Marsha Ambrosius to name a few. He has also written for well-known international artists such as Asian pop star Se7en including the song “Money can’t buy me love” or Korean pop group Big Bang including the song “Remember”, with tracks produced by mega producer Teddy Park.

Walt’s musical genius propelled him to the status of one of the musical greats.

In 2016, Kool & the Gang didn’t want to miss the opportunity of making Walt the lead singer of the band, and from there, the rest is history… He wrote and co-produced for them the single called “Sexy, Where’d you get yours”, which charted at #15 on Adult R&B Billboard.

Walt performed 100 shows a year worldwide with Kool & The Gang. While touring with the band he met Prince Hakim, the son of Robert Bell better known as Kool, one of the founders of the band. In 2018 Walt wrote and was featured as lead vocalist on Prince Hakim’s single “R.O.Y.A.L.T.Y.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQlxU_XB81k

They teamed up again in 2021 and released another collaboration single called “So Impressive” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feLf0d0e2X4

Since then, Walt Anderson has been the lead vocalist of the legendary Grammy Award winning band best known for “Celebration” and “Get Down On It”. He has toured the world with them singing in some of the most important venues and TV shows, such as American Idol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXVUd-cBc4k or the Today show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AT6ZF6C8G3s

Apart from being the lead vocalist, Walt is the writer of Kool and the Gang’s current album entitled “Perfect Union” released in August of 2021. Walt is the lead vocalist and writer of all 10 songs on the album including the single “Pursuit of Happiness”.

He felt that it was time for him to release a new single. So, this year Walt Anderson released “Fly” featuring American singer Ava Pearl. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ma4Je5qRUQM

Other important artists such American DJ and music producer, Wolfgang Gartner, have featured Walt as lead vocalist and writer. Gartner did it on his single “So Kool” from his EP released in 2020.
