The Heart of Utica: JOHNNY BOOGOTTI Is On a Mission With “Lyrical Relapse”

Straight out of Utica, NY, JOHNNY BOOGOTTI brings raw energy and depth to the mic with over a decade of dedication to his craft. As both a rapper and singer, Boogotti blends Afrobeat, hip-hop, and R&B into a genre-bending sound that’s uniquely his own. With nearly 15 years in the game, he’s not just making music—he’s building a legacy from the ground up.

His journey started with a track called “You Know I Know” featuring longtime collaborator Rilla, and the two are still making waves together. Their latest joint, “4th Quarter,” is a testament to that chemistry—a gritty, hungry anthem that shows Boogotti is in his prime and playing to win. No stranger to challenges, his inspiration has always come from close to home: “My family,” he says, without hesitation.

JOHNNY BOOGOTTI isn’t just focused on tracks—he’s creating platforms. His latest project, Lyrical Relapse, is a one-mic series that aims to spotlight raw talent and give artists a space to deliver bar-heavy performances. It’s part therapy session, part lyrical warfare—and it’s got heads turning.

Although he’s currently signed, Boogotti is aiming for the autonomy of a distribution deal. “I write all my material, and I create my own video concepts,” he shares, showing that every detail in his art is intentional. With no single producer tying him down, he collaborates widely to keep his sound fresh and evolving.

Whether it’s performing in front of 500 people or dreaming of taking the stage overseas, JOHNNY BOOGOTTI’s vision is clear: “In five years, I see myself successful.” With his work ethic and originality, that future feels less like a dream and more like an inevitability.

Don’t sleep on JOHNNY BOOGOTTI—his pen is sharp, his sound is real, and his moment is coming.
