Swanky Hendrix Is Turning Soulful Hip-Hop Into a Legacy From Albany to the World

Coming out of Albany, NY, Swanky Hendrix is a name you’re going to want to remember. A rapper, producer, and clothing designer, Swanky isn’t just an artist—he’s a creative force fueled by purpose, passion, and precision. He started making music at just 8 years old, but began to take it seriously at 14. Since then, he’s been quietly crafting a movement rooted in authenticity, soul, and the kind of grind that legends are made of.

His first official release, Distant Dreams, was more than a song—it was a statement. A declaration that he was here not just to rap, but to inspire. With his father as his biggest influence, Swanky channels that legacy into his music, creating a sound he dubs “soulful hip hop”—a blend of heartfelt storytelling with sharp lyricism and rich, melodic production. The emotional weight of his sound is reminiscent of Nipsey Hussle, who Swanky dreams of collaborating with, and it’s no surprise considering the entrepreneurial mindset and community-first mentality both artists share.

Swanky‘s recent single, Blue Lights, dives deep into the duality of pain and perseverance. It’s raw. It’s real. And it’s undeniably powerful. Check out their new single Blue Lights now—this one hits different.

He’s not just building music; he’s building an empire. Whether he’s designing clothing, crafting music video concepts, or collaborating with artists like Rhakim Ali, JayGGM, Ace $upreme, and Saliyah Itoka, every move is intentional. With producers like Rhakim Ali and Jaan in his corner, Swanky is focused on pushing the envelope and carving out a lane that’s uniquely his.

Currently working on a new mixtape and eyeing a June release, Swanky has big plans for the future—touring with names like Big Sean or Wiz Khalifa, performing in L.A., and expanding his brand into a thriving business. He doesn’t want a traditional record deal—he’s after a smart distribution partnership or a strategic collaboration that aligns with his independent vision.

With his cousin and brother holding him down as his biggest supporters, and his Instagram (@swankyhendrix) growing with every drop, it’s clear that Swanky Hendrix is on the path to something major.
