Lil Baby recently appeared on Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place Podcast, where he opened up about his relationship with longtime collaborator Young Thug and reflected on the YSL rapper’s legal troubles.

Discussing Thug’s recent release from jail, Lil Baby expressed relief, saying, “Definitely happy Slime is home for sure. 1,000 percent.” He then shared a personal moment, revealing that he was at Thug’s house the same day Thugger was arrested but had arrived two hours earlier. “Thank God I just happened to be two hours early,” Lil Baby recalled. “That fk your head up more than anything. Dn, I gotta see bro go through this… That st could’ve really been me.” He added that their bond goes beyond music, saying, “This is not even my rap peer. This is my everyday [friend]. These the ngas I grew up with.”

Lil Baby also weighed in on the Georgia RICO case, acknowledging the toll it took on his mental state. “That’s a long-a** process,” he said, adding, “I’m into it. I’m watching it every dn day. All that is on your brain and on your mind while you need to go and put out your best work and st. It’s gonna be hard to do that.”

The “We Paid” rapper also addressed the memes and internet jokes aimed at him, admitting that while some are funny, others cross the line. “Some of ‘em be funny. Some of ‘em I’ll really smack ngas for,” he said. “It is what it is. I don’t play certain [types of] games. So, even when I see certain st, it’s like… Push up on me with it. See how that [goes]. I don’t play with ngas, period. On no funny weird st… All that type [of] s**t, that really bothers me.”
