On the music scene for almost 6 years Aquil Lee aka “Monopoly Quil” from Philadelphia has many hits including Fake to Me, The Recipe and Dwell. You can find his music on all platforms and his music video’s on YouTube. He is very focused on his music and is always trying to find new ways to wow his listeners and writes about topics others can relate too. What he wants fans to take away from his music is his story and what he went through in life.

I asked him how has COVID affected his music journey and he was fortunate that it has not affected his personal life but as for his music journey it gave him more topics to write about.

Some of his biggest accomplishments in the industry so far is getting features with major artist’s like Cascio and Corey Pieper. Also having Fat Joe share and support him and his brothers music. He wants to start taking music more seriously and see how far it can take him. He plans to drop as much music as he can to get noticed and has been dropping music at a lighting speed, the fans can barley keep up. Quil has also been working with producer Schy On The Beat to make the sound he wants in his music that his fans have been falling in love with. He wants his music to inspire people to strive for more but create the confidence for them to create there own style of music that they want.

Some of the big artist’s that inspired him to make music is Meek Mill, Cassidy, Derez Deshon, Kanye, Drake and Lil Wayne. With him being part of a large family which includes 11 sibling’s total it keeps him focused and he wants to work to get to the top that much more. He has always looked up to his cousin Nino Locke and his homie Ricky V, because they are artist themselves and he has learned a lot from them about the music industry.

His next big move will be January 2022 when he will be starting his first album. He plans on dropping this masterpiece in the spring of 2022.
