Do you want a record deal or distribution deal or none?
“When man getting a record deal that he was a good deal and it wasn’t really something I was going to jerk me around but I think the distribution deal would be better after I had more creative control over the music that I put out and it also would help me to reach more people that I wouldn’t be able to reach without the distribution deal.”
Who are your biggest supporters?
“I will have the same mom my family and my own and off again girlfriend who’s usually at all my shows and that was the words the most of my music she also helps me promote a lot of my music too.”
How did u get your name?
“My name basically comes from being in jail and people calling me Rio and then sometimes they would say big rio if I was playing basketball and would get a rebound over somebody or posted somebody up and scored on them talking to a Spanish guy I found out grande ment big or huge in Spanish and I liked the ring of that next to my name so I spiced up big rig and made it Rio Grande.”
Do u write your own material?
“To me that’s a crazy question cause I thought every respectable MC was supposed to write his own material but I found out that a lot of people don’t nowadays and even in the past didn’t but I definitely write my own material and other people’s material I take pride knowing I’m a good song writer.”
Do u create your own music video concepts?
“As of now I do and have since every video I have made I also edit videos myself two I wish I didn’t have to do all this and somebody can take some burden off me so I can focus more on my writing more but that’s how it is right now when u a up and coming artist you got to do so much.”
What’s your favorite music to listen to?
“For me that’s honestly a hard question cuz of course I love hip hop and rap but trap isn’t my favorite hip hop to listen to I like more of a soulful hip hop but at the same time I love pop music so for me it’ll be more of like who’s my favorite artist in hip Hop and right now my favorite artist is dead who was Nipsey Hussle and before that it was Chinx Drugs so I will have to say my favorite music to listen to it’s just like a more soulful hip Hop one that is talking about something and has more of a message.”
What are u working on now?
“Presently I’m working on my CD God bless the strong which will be out at the end of this year beginning of next year I’m also trying to get my record label off the ground do it big records and my own clothing line RGrande.”
