Hailing from the small town of McComb, Mississippi, 2227lipopa is a rising star in the Southern hip-hop scene. His journey from humble beginnings to crafting melodic trap and pain-infused music reflects his passion for creativity and his burning desire to lift himself and his family out of the trenches.
Growing up, 2227lipopa’s love for music began at the age of 13-14. However, he found himself torn between his dreams of basketball and his natural passion for music. “I got too deep in my dreams with basketball, so I had to drop the music and focus on one thing,” he shared. Despite the challenges, music was never far from his mind, and in high school, he got his first offer. Unfortunately, just months before graduation, that opportunity was taken away. Yet, he never gave up on his dream.
His return to music was driven by a single goal: to give his family a way out. “I’m a star trying to get my family out of the trenches,” he explains. “This is my talent, my way out!” His dedication is clear, and he pours his heart into every project, treating music as a form of art and expression. His debut track, Road 2 Riches, was a collaborative effort with his brothers and fellow artists, Pacclyfe and Daxhosen5, marking the start of his journey into the official music scene.
When asked about his inspirations, 2227lipopa points to his family, particularly the kids. “It’s only right that I set a good example,” he says. As a father figure and role model, he strives to leave a legacy of hope and success for the younger generation. His music is a reflection of his experiences—Southern hip-hop mixed with melodic trap and raw, emotional pain.
Currently, 2227lipopa is preparing to release his upcoming project, Astral Thoughts, set to drop on January 7th, 2025. His sound continues to evolve as he collaborates with talented producers like JD, Marquel806, Cali, and Simbo. With his eyes on the future, he envisions not only a successful music career but also the opportunity to build a business empire. “I see myself rich off my creativity and art,” he says, adding that his dreams also include owning a clothing line and starting a program for young people facing adversity.
