Itslitobbs aka Lito Suave has been making a buzz lately. A lot of artists have been telling me to check him out and I am glad I had the opportunity to hear “Bangers with the Boys”.
I got together with some of the other biggest blogs in the game and we all did an exclusive interview on him. We are all hoping to catch him at a show in Pachanga in San Diego soon.
Where are you from? (Both Born and raised)
I am born and raised in San Diego. Otherwise known as Daygo.
What do you do?
Besides music, I have a passion for science and am I Research associate at an institute.
Tell us about your childhood in regards to music.
When I was younger I was the leader of a drum line. I would have all of these rhythmic solos that lit up my soul. It was then I knew I wanted to be in the spotlight, and give a dope performance. Being an artist allows me to accomplish both the musicality and the solo performances that I loved so much as a child.
Who’s your go to producers and why?
I would have to shout out my brothers Rae and Bananana. Their consistent quality gives me the peace of mind to fall into my creativity. I never have to worry about stuff sounding off.
Who’s your frequent artist collaborators?
Lately of been working with Influencer and Dancer, Timo Nuñez. He has an insatiable drive for success that really rubs off on me. He pushes my writing and even brings our songs to Los Angeles to get crazy Mixes and Vocal production done by Kendrick Lamars collaborator, B Martin at Purpose Driven Studios.
Who are some of your musical influences? Growing up I had a diverse taste in music: my family played a lot of traditional Mexican music, and my brother and I loved 50 cent and G-unit, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Jeezy, Nas, Jay-Z and others. By the time I was a freshman and sophomore in highschool, music had changed. I was listening to Fetty wap, Jeremih, and Bobby Shmurda. I ended up really bangin to Drake x Future in my senior year and the rest was history. I found the sound I loved and wanted to embody as a musical artist.
How important is a supportive community to you?
My community is everything to me. It is the reason I can’t be fooled or played. I grew up in a place where you have to look out for yourself and be able to read people’s intentions. My family, friends, and collaborators are such a strong support system for me. I feel lucky to have the support I do and it’s only growing day by day.
As a matter of fact – another real one I need to shout out is my engineer, Bier Music. He is so dope. Another strong supporter and great friend is my Creative Director and Photographer, Tariq Johnson. He’s truly a creative genius and very supportive in my journey.
So what’s next for you itslitobbs? Short term and long term.
My five year goal is to be fully established as an artist. I’m well aware that it’s an enormous commitment – But when you do what you love, it makes it worth the hustle.
More short term, I’m working on taking my Spotify reach to the next level. Because it’s the biggest musical platform on the planet where artists can blow up – I’m working on Monthly releases and increasing monthly listeners.
Well itslitobbs, it’s been a pleasure. We are excited to stream to your next single.
