Bria The Artist is a 29-year-old singer, songwriter, producer,
composer, painter, sketch artist, and poet based in Westchester, NY.
Raised in The Bronx, Bria began her professional music career while
attending college at Lincoln University, where she went on to study Fine
Arts. She was a natural talent in both art forms, earning her the
nickname ‘Bri-Dimensional.’
But Bria’s true passion was music. After performing backup vocals for
her mother – also a performer – Bria took to the stage as a solo artist in
2015.
Since then, she has seen her star rapidly rise. Having written songs for
the last decade, she was contracted to paint her first mural in 2019, a
move which made her recommit to focusing on her own art and music.
Bria built her own home studio and began releasing a series of singles,
eventually hitting a milestone when she was able to undertake a 10-city
tour in Dubai in 2019. Among her accomplishments, Bria also released
two albums; Moon Swings – recorded and produced almost entirely on
her iPhone – and Jaded – produced ENTIRELY on her own. Later, her
single ‘People Fall In Love In Heaven’ caught the attention of Grammy
Award-winning singer/songwriter Ne-Yo in March 2021 and was added
to his personal playlist.
Her music has been called a combo of neo-soul, jazz, and nostalgic hip-
hop sounds – but Bria’s artistry means that the whole is greater than the
sum of its part. She incorporates visual art and poetry into her
songwriting methods, meaning her creations are unlike anything you’ve
heard. Bria lists Erykah Badu, Earth Wind and Fire, D’Angelo, and Andre
3000 as some of her influences, citing Timbaland and Missy Elliott as
her favorite producers.
Having performed over 100 shows and written/produced over 50 songs,
2023 is currently her biggest year yet, with her ‘Bri-Dimensional Virtual
Concert Series’ already underway. Fans can expect another single
release and some visuals to accompany her previously released music
before the year is out.
