Eclusive Interview with Vi
Stage Name: Vi
Homestate: New York
What inspired you to pursue music?
“It all started with freestyle sessions with the homies when we were younger. Seeing how artists move and express themselves really pushed me to take music seriously.”
How would you describe your style and sound?
“Aggressive and depressive.”
How does your music connect with listeners?
“My music reflects real emotions—whether it’s the depression I incorporate into my songs, which helps people feel seen, or the aggressive energy that gives that head-bang, sh*t-talk vibe.”
How do you collaborate with other artists and producers?
“I usually reach out through email or DM, depending on their following.”

Are you an independent artist, or do you work with a team?
“I’ve had my team with me since day one. We started a label called DeadCom Records for the music heads and launched a clothing brand for our creative homies. Now, we travel the country together as a business.”
Any major milestones in your career so far?
“I got to meet OMB Peezy after one of my artist’s performances. We locked in after that show, and a few weeks later, he blew up with a song he made when he was 17.”
What keeps you motivated to push forward?
“My label group and my artists—05ive, 7khi, Gen4our, and then my boy Joey the kid and the plastic boys , who’s been rapping for mad long now.”
Have you faced any challenges, and how did you overcome them?
“For sure. The only way I can explain it is—just do it. The only thing that can hurt you is not trying.”
How do you engage with your fans on social media?
“I like asking them questions and getting them involved through stories and posts.”
What’s your next single?
“Upstate $tomp (coming soon!)”
