In a groundbreaking collaboration, the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) and 10-time GRAMMY nominee Victoria Monét have introduced the BMAC x Victoria Monét Music Maker Grant. This pivotal initiative, set to be officially unveiled during BMAC’s GRAMMY Week Music Maker Dinner on January 31, 2024, aims to provide economic empowerment to emerging Black artists.

The grant, totaling $5,000, is not merely financial support but a holistic approach to nurturing talent. The recipient will not only receive the crucial financial boost but will also gain access to invaluable mentorship opportunities and direct career advice from Victoria Monét herself. This multi-faceted support system is designed to propel the chosen artist forward in their musical journey.

Aligned with BMAC’s core commitment to fostering access, equity, and opportunities for the next generation of Black artists and industry professionals, this grant joins BMAC’s existing portfolio of impactful grants and empowerment programs. These include The Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis Music Maker Grant, BMAC Ernie Paniccioli Music Photojournalism Grant & Celebration Event, among others.

BMAC Co-Founder, President, and CEO, Willie “Prophet” Stiggers expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are honored to partner with Victoria Monét to uplift a young and deserving Black artist and help further their dreams within the music industry. Her story is one of resilience and perseverance, and it is in that spirit we will continue to pay it forward.”

This initiative will be celebrated at the BMAC Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis Music Maker Dinner, creating an ideal setting to applaud and encourage the strides made in breaking down barriers for the Black community in the music industry.
