In a recent appearance on DeepCut with VicBlends (Dec. 19), 21 Savage ranked some of Atlanta’s top lyricists, and as expected, he placed himself at No. 1. The “Bank Account” rapper was given a list of Atlanta heavyweights to choose from, including Young Thug, Lil Baby, JID, and Future.

“I’m No. 1,” 21 Savage confidently declared. Following himself, he ranked Dreamville’s JID, with whom he collaborated on the viral 2022 track “Surround Sound,” in second place. Longtime collaborator Young Thug took the No. 3 spot, while Lil Baby and Future rounded out the top five.

However, when it came to song-making, 21 Savage had a different perspective. He stated, “If it’s off song-making, Pluto would be No. 1,” referring to Future’s ability to craft hits. Despite landing in the fifth spot on 21’s ranking, Future’s songwriting skills earned high praise from the Savage Mode artist.
