The presidential race is officially coming to a close next week, and each candidate is rallying up all the support possible for the home stretch. VP Kamala Harris‘ campaign announced on Thursday (Oct. 31) that Cardi B and GloRilla are set to appear at When We Vote We Win event in Milwaukee, Wisc., in support of the Democratic ticket. The event is taking place on Friday (Nov. 1).
After receiving the support of artists like Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland in Houston, Eminem in Detroit, and more, Harris is adding more names to the roster. Also set to take the stage for performances are The Isley Brothers, Flo Milli, MC Lyte and DJ Gemini Gilly. Per Billboard, Cardi will make a speech and Glo will perform.
At the Oct. 25 Houston rally, Bey gave her full endorsement for the VP and delivered her sentiments about protecting women’s rights. “I’m not here as a celebrity, I’m not here as a politician. I’m here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we’re not divided,” the “Freedom” singer said.
“Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations,” she continued. “We must vote, and we need you.” Watch her speech above.
The “WAP” artist has showcased her support for Harris throughout the year. In late July, she said in an X Spaces session, “Listen, if you don’t like her as a politician, that’s you. But if you disrespect her because she’s a woman? It’s very disgusting.”
Cardi B has had a busy year with many updates. She gave birth to her third child at the top of September, her third baby with rapper Offset. However, she filed for divorce the former Migos member in August. The Bronx artist also is expected to drop her highly anticipated album, which has been delayed numerous times in 2024.
GloRilla is still riding the high from her recently released LP, GLORIOUS. The project officially dropped on Oct. 11, 2024, and served as a follow-up to Ehhthang Ehhthang from earlier this year. The new project houses guest appearances from Latto, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, Kirk Franklin, Maverick City Music, Kierra Sheard, Chandler Moore, Megan Thee Stallion, BossMan Dlow, T-Pain, and Fridayy.
