From the streets of Nashville, TN, where country music often dominate the airwaves, emerges a unique voice that blends the raw emotion of hip-hop with the introspective soul of Sad Boi Pop. Dustin Taylor, better known by his stage name dusty the ghost, is carving out a niche that is about personal evolution and musical innovation. “Home is wherever I go,” he says, a statement emanates transience and the universality of his vision.

dusty the ghost’s journey into music was almost inevitable. “When it comes down to it, music is what consumes my mind most of the time,” he reflects. This passion led him to create music with friends, a venture that turned out so well they decided to release their tracks to the world. This marked the beginning of dusty the ghost’s  deep dive into the crevices of his mind, crafting a new project with a fresh sound.

Despite being relatively new to the scene, 9hxztly has already amassed over 100,000 streams across various platforms—a significant milestone that he wears with pride. His sound, self-described as Sad Boi Pop, defies easy categorization. “I wouldn’t put a label on me,” he insists. His music is a reflection of human potential and the journey towards finding one’s most visceral, authentic self. This authenticity is what resonates deeply with his audience, who connect with the relatable experiences and the palpable emotion in his voice.

Collaboration is a key part of dusty the ghost’s creative process, though he approaches it with caution. “I have to make sure we vibe because I take a raw and emotional approach to crafting my music.” This rawness is also why he remains truly independent, navigating the music industry without official management. It’s a path that brings challenges, such as distribution issues and the difficulty of discerning genuine support from superficial interest. Yet, dusty the ghost remains undeterred, driven by his healing journey and the support of good people with industry experience.

Engagement with fans is another cornerstone of his strategy. “I comment back and message back my fans as much as I can. They are the whole reason I do this.,” he shares. This direct connection with his audience is what fuels his motivation and ensures that his music continues to touch hearts.

Looking ahead, dusty the ghost is excited about his next project, “Kerosene,” and is open to opportunities for distribution deals. As he continues to evolve and push the boundaries of his sound, one thing is clear: dusty the ghost  is an artist who is here to stay, ready to take the music world by storm, track at a time.
