In a recent episode of Apple Music’s “Young Money Radio,” football legend Deion Sanders made headlines by openly supporting Lil Wayne as the ideal candidate for the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show. Sanders, who is already envisioning the next year’s event in New Orleans, passionately advocated for the New Orleans native to grace the stage at Caesars Superdome.

Sanders teased the audience, initially avoiding dropping Lil Wayne’s name but eventually expressing, “He’s dope. He has to be the halftime performer.” Wayne, showing agreement, hinted at taking action, stating, “I’ma look into him… I’ma see what I can do for him.”

The NFL great, known for his charisma, emphasized Lil Wayne’s talent by suggesting that the artist might need more time than allotted due to his extensive catalog of hits. The banter continued as Wayne mentioned his connections, including a nod to JAY-Z’s potential involvement in making this halftime dream a reality.

As Lil Wayne previously expressed his desire to perform at the Super Bowl, citing his New Orleans roots, Sanders and Wayne seemed determined to make it happen. With Sanders reaching out to his contacts, including NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and JAY-Z, the stage is set for an exciting collaboration to bring Lil Wayne to the forefront of the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.
