What is your name?

My stage name is palmTree, but my real name is Joe or Joey (only my mom calls me Joseph).

Would you rather have?

50k in cash or a perfect credit score, and why?

I would rather have a perfect credit score than 50k in cash. Cash is becoming less valuable and assets are more important for financial stability in my opinion. These days credit goes farther than cash.

Who is your favorite producer?

My favorite producers at the moment are DGV and Epik Beats, only because I use their beats. If we’re talking major producers, all time would be Dre or Dilla, current would be Kal Banx or Sounwave.

Are you a touring artist or a recording artist?

I’m a recording artist.

Have you ever thought about quitting music?

I have thought about quitting music a couple times but whenever I do, I get a sign from somebody that I should keep going. Like a dm from a random person saying they like what I’m putting out or I end up getting asked to perform at a local show. Something always tells me not to quit when it comes to mind.

Favorite Era of music?

My favorite era of music is definitely the 90s, my first concert was Method Man and Curren$y. I grew up on Wu Tang, Eric B and Rakim, Nas, Mos Def, etc.. I mainly listened to East Coast growing up.

Do you plan on traveling?

I would love to be able to travel with my music!

Are you an independent artist or are you signed or under any management?

I’m an independent artist, looking for management.

What was your most memorable concert, did you perform at it?

My most memorable concert was the one I performed at this past weekend. It was easily the best crowd reaction I’ve ever had! But I also say Kanye West, J. Cole, Kendrick, Chance and Travis before which were all very memorable.

What was your biggest challenge that you had to overcome during your music career, so far?

The biggest challenge I’ve overcome is myself. I’ve come a long way with my sound and it’s because I kept at it, despite all the setbacks and losses. I’ve quit everything else I tried in my life like sports, relationships, etc. but this music has built some of my strongest relationships and taught me about persistence.
