Freddie Gibbs has social media buzzing after appearing to take a jab at J. Cole.

Cole’s new song “cLOUDs”, released via his Algorithm blog on Thursday (February 20), features bars that highlight his dominance in rap:
“I caught a lotta murder charges, turned artists/ To martyrs, when I rock, thot turns to goddess.”

After its release, Gibbs posted a yawn emoji on X, then elaborated on Instagram, saying:
“N-ggaz be rapping about how they kill rappers and kill they careers and blah blah blah but he backing outta rap beefs,” accompanied by laughing and thinking emojis.

Many fans believe this is a dig at Cole’s decision to step away from direct competition with Kendrick Lamar, though Gibbs did not confirm this.

Despite the possible shade, Gibbs once showed admiration for Cole, especially in 2020 when he praised the RS-Dreamer sneakers and dunked while wearing them.

Additionally, Gibbs recently accused Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR of copying elements from his $oul $old $eparately era for their new album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, further adding fuel to rap discussions.
