Chattanooga, Tennessee’s Rod Godson

Coming straight out of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Rod Godson is carving his own lane with a sound rooted in truth, resilience, and raw life experience. Influenced by heavyweights like Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, 2Pac, Mr. Pookie, and 8Ball & MJG, Rod blends hip-hop, R&B, and pop into a style that feels both nostalgic and fresh—music that speaks directly to the streets while reaching beyond them.

Rod’s journey started early. Writing since the age of six, he sharpened his pen through poems and classroom essays before stepping into the studio with his uncle. From talent shows in middle and high school to building a growing fanbase, his evolution has been fueled by consistency and hunger. His music isn’t fabricated—it’s lived. Every bar reflects real situations, struggles, and moments that listeners can genuinely relate to.

Even when setbacks hit, Rod never folded. After losing a catalog of music and beats in a devastating car fire, he faced a moment that could’ve ended everything. Instead, he rebuilt from the ground up, turning loss into motivation. That same drive has pushed him to major milestones, including hitting over 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and racking up 250,000 streams on a single track. He’s even shared the stage with Foogiano during a pivotal moment in his career, proving he belongs in the conversation.

His latest release, “Streets Fed Up” featuring Blu Rollin, taps into a reimagined R. Kelly-inspired vibe, blending street narratives with smooth R&B undertones. It’s part of a larger vision tied to his album If You Were the One, alongside tracks like “Streets Honey Love” featuring Feebee. Beyond music, Rod connects with fans through his clothing brand, turning style into another form of storytelling.

At his core, Rod Godson is driven by legacy. His kids are his motivation, pushing him to build something lasting—music, business, and a foundation they can stand on. With dreams of owning land, creating a family-run clothing store, and building a home studio, he’s thinking long-term while grinding daily.

Authentic, determined, and unapologetically real—Rod Godson isn’t just making music, he’s building a story that others can see themselves in.
