NA SILVA goes hard on the pure focus of GET UP

NA SILVA holds nothing back as “GET UP” has an intense, razor-sharp cutting to the absolute heart of the matter. Lyrically he goes for the precise. The forcefulness with which he delivers each line has a tremendous muscle to it. So much of the work feels reminiscent of DMX’s early career as there is that same urgency about it, one that cuts away the excess. Even the beats further testify to this approach, with every beat hitting with pure fury. Best of all, it does a perfect job of bridging the gap between old-school and contemporary hip-hop in a way that respects both.

From the first moment, he piles into every verse with the lyricism spit with a ferociousness. The song has this street quality, particularly the vocal treatment where he imbues the word choice with a sense of intimacy. Even when he shifts it to an almost dying microphone, it becomes somehow more visceral, as there seems to be a pleading quality, encouraging the listener to take that chance. By the time it all gets wrapped up, the song has this beginning-to-end aspect that adds to its purposeful stance, feeling ever so real.

“GET UP” revels in NA SILVA’s fierce determination, for he delivers a genuinely raw, unvarnished look at ambition.
