Yvng YBK was born and raised in Queens, where he spent his whole life in Long Island City. The blooming artist attended his middle and elementary school in Astoria, where he grew up. Born a talented artist, most of Yvng YBK’s childhood memories are filled up with drawing or writing.
Yvng YBK has loved music since he was a toddler but only started making music four years ago, in 2018. It was during his freshman year when he was inspired by his friend, Jay who was already making his own music.
Taking his friends advice, yvng taught himself how to create music for over four years. His first songs were horrendous and did not blow up. Not giving up, the artist collaborated with EXO Bunny, where he learnt how to mix music.
His first ever rap alias name was ‘YBK’, which stands for young boy kell. The artist looks forward to collaborating with iconic rappers like ‘juice world’ and ‘X’ who are undoubtedly his biggest inspiration. Being a huge fan of ‘Trippy Red’, Yvng YBK is currently open to working with his idol, ‘trippy red’, who motivates him a lot.
