Omarion Clarifies Verzuz Remark About Pretty Ricky’s Slick’em Following Backlash

The recent Verzuz battle between B2K and Pretty Ricky delivered plenty of nostalgia and memorable moments, but one comment from Omarion sparked unexpected controversy after the event.

During the friendly back-and-forth between both groups, Omarion asked, “Where Slick’em at?” while exchanging playful jabs with Pretty Ricky. Although the remark appeared to be part of the competitive banter, it quickly drew criticism online after some fans connected it to the absence of former Pretty Ricky member Slick’em Hound.

Following the backlash, Omarion addressed the situation directly in the comments section of a social media post discussing the incident. The singer explained that he was unaware of Slick’em’s personal struggles and said he had no intention of making light of the situation.

According to Omarion, he does not closely follow the personal lives of other entertainers and only learned afterward that Slick’em had reportedly been dealing with serious personal challenges. He went on to express his support, wishing Slick’em healing and recovery.

The conversation gained additional attention after Pleasure P addressed his bandmate’s absence following the Verzuz event. Speaking publicly, Pleasure P emphasized that every member of Pretty Ricky has faced personal and professional hardships over the years while expressing hope that Slick’em will eventually return when he is ready.

Pleasure P has previously spoken about Slick’em’s reported battle with heroin addiction, revealing in late 2024 that he was deeply concerned for his longtime friend and wanted to see him get the help he needed.

Earlier in 2025, fellow Pretty Ricky member Spectacular Blue also discussed the situation publicly, stating that Slick’em had declined offers to enter rehabilitation while reiterating that the group continued to support him despite his absence.

Although the brief Verzuz exchange generated criticism online, Omarion’s response suggests there was no malicious intent behind his comment. Instead, he maintains that he was unaware of Slick’em’s reported struggles and offered his condolences and encouragement once he learned more about the situation.

The moment serves as a reminder that public remarks can sometimes take on new meaning when personal circumstances become known. For both B2K and Pretty Ricky, the focus has since shifted back to celebrating the legacy of two of R&B’s most influential groups while fans continue hoping for Slick’em’s recovery and well-being.
