Latto Shuts Down Ghostwriting Rumors After Joe Budden Mentions Drake

Latto is making it clear that she writes her own music after comments from Joe Budden sparked a fresh round of ghostwriting speculation.

The conversation began following the release of Latto’s latest album, Big Mama. The project has generated plenty of discussion among fans, not only because of its music but also because it marks a significant moment in the rapper’s career. At one point, Latto had suggested the album could be her final project before retirement. However, after becoming a mother, she later revealed that her passion for music remains strong and that stepping away from the industry was never the right move.

As listeners continue to break down the album, some fans have pointed out similarities between Latto’s delivery and the style of Drake on certain tracks. Comparisons between the two artists are not entirely new, but they resurfaced in a major way after Big Mama dropped.

During a recent episode of the The Joe Budden Podcast, Budden took the discussion a step further by suggesting that Drake could potentially be involved in writing some of Latto’s music.

The comments quickly reached Latto, who wasted no time responding.

In a post on social media, the rapper shared a photo of a whiteboard covered with handwritten lyrics, seemingly documenting her songwriting process. She also tagged Budden directly, making it clear that she disagreed with his theory and wanted to shut down the speculation.

The response resonated with many fans who viewed it as a direct defense of her artistry and creative independence. For artists in hip-hop, accusations of ghostwriting can often become sensitive topics because they raise questions about authenticity and personal contribution.

While Drake is widely regarded as one of rap’s strongest songwriters and has been connected to writing for other artists throughout his career, there is no evidence that he has been writing Latto’s music. Nevertheless, the discussion highlights how quickly stylistic comparisons can evolve into larger debates within hip-hop culture.

As for Joe Budden, stirring conversation has long been part of his appeal as a media personality. His comments frequently spark reactions from artists, and this latest exchange with Latto is another example of how podcast discussions can quickly become major talking points across social media.

For now, Latto appears focused on celebrating Big Mama while making one thing perfectly clear: she wants fans to know the lyrics are coming directly from her.
