Cardi B has decided to step away from an escalating online dispute involving a political advisor to Donald Trump, saying her priority is the safety of herself and her family.
The drama began after a report from Politico examined claims that thousands of automated social media accounts amplified pro-Trump posts made by Nicki Minaj. The report cited findings from Cyabra, a data analytics and disinformation detection company.
🚨 former Kamala Harris surrogate and rapper @iamcardib, who recently threatened to physically assault ICE officers if they came to her shows, just threatened to sue me, but immediately deleted her threat after I provided facts that her rep is, in fact, involved with the company… pic.twitter.com/ZY3jwwkft1

Trump advisor Alex Bruesewitz criticized the article, arguing it failed to mention that Cardi B’s agent, Mike “G” Guirguis, has an advisory role and investment in Cyabra. He implied that connection was relevant — a suggestion that pulled Cardi into the controversy despite her not being named in the original report.
Thanks for playing, @iamcardib, and I appreciate you dropping your frivolous lawsuit threat against me!
I forgive you! pic.twitter.com/NwQ6Glho4g

Cardi B quickly pushed back, denying any involvement and urging Bruesewitz to focus on the data rather than dragging her into political crossfire. She clarified that her agent’s investment in the company had nothing to do with her and emphasized that the company works with a range of investors and clients.
Guirguis also publicly stated that his advisory role and investments are separate from Cardi B’s career and activities.

However, after facing backlash from Bruesewitz’s supporters online, Cardi B expressed fear and anxiety about the situation during a recent X Spaces session. She said she did not want conflict with government figures and worried about potential threats to her safety. The intense reaction prompted her to disengage from the feud entirely.
Bruesewitz responded by mocking her decision to step back, claiming she had dropped a legal threat against him.
The episode highlights how quickly online disputes can escalate — especially when entertainment, politics, and social media collide.
