Visalia’s Own Buckethatbandanaboy

In the heart of Visalia, a town not exactly known for its rap scene, a fresh voice emerges with a style that’s unforgettably unique. Buckethatbandanaboy, a rapper who’s been serious about his craft for around four years, is redefining what it means to mix Ghetto Funk with raw, unapologetic lyrics.

It all began with a track titled “Higher in the Morning,” which, in his own words, was “shit.” But that early self-awareness and honest critique paved the way for a journey toward greatness. Buckethatbandanaboy’s inspirations are some of the finest in the rap game—N.W.A, Nate Dogg, Andre 3000, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar. It’s clear that the old-school West Coast vibes and lyrical mastery of the greats continue to inform his sound.

What stands out about Buckethatbandanaboy is his drive to remain independent. Not signed to a label yet, he’s open to conversations, but he’s perfectly content making moves on his own terms, producing his own beats, and conceptualizing his own music videos. “Sometimes the amigos throw in ideas,” he laughs, highlighting his collaborative spirit, but it’s clear that this artist remains in full control of his creative vision.

He’s currently working on a monumental task—writing over 500 songs, an ambitious goal that shows his commitment to perfecting his craft. He’s even dropped a few remixes recently, but who knows when the next official release will come? It could be tonight, tomorrow, or in two years, and that unpredictability is part of the allure.

As for where he sees himself in five years? Buckethatbandanaboy plans to take things further, not just as a rapper but as a visionary. He aims to start his own school, an ambitious dream that connects his love for education with his passion for the arts.

While he’s had intimate performances with 50-65 people, he dreams bigger—wanting to perform in LA or Mexico and envisioning himself touring alongside artists like Kendrick Lamar. His family remains his biggest support system, providing unwavering loyalty and belief in his journey.
