Shaquille O’Neal is making waves once again with the upcoming digital release of his 1996 album, You Can’t Stop The Reign, which will feature an unreleased track with Nas and JAY-Z. The highly anticipated track, “No Love Lost,” will be available on streaming platforms starting this Friday, June 28.

Originally released in 1996, Shaquille O’Neal’s third studio album, You Can’t Stop The Reign, was a significant milestone in the NBA star’s music career. The album, packed with 19 tracks, included collaborations with iconic artists such as The Notorious B.I.G., Mobb Deep, Bobby Brown, Peter Gunz, and JAY-Z. Among these, “No Love Lost” with JAY-Z stood out as a memorable highlight.

On Wednesday, June 26, Shaq took to social media to announce that You Can’t Stop The Reign would be re-released on digital platforms. In addition to the original tracks, this updated version will include a previously unreleased version of “No Love Lost” featuring Nas and JAY-Z, a revelation that has fans buzzing with excitement.

Shaq discussed this long-lost track during a recent episode of REVOLT’s “Drink Champs.” He explained that while the song was recorded during the original album sessions, it faced clearance and publishing issues that prevented its release. Despite this, Shaq remained positive. “I didn’t take it personal,” he said. “Being in the studio with legends like Nas and JAY-Z was incredible. I got to share those moments with my friends, and that was everything to me.”

The interview also touched on Shaq’s perspective on the music industry. Despite achieving platinum status with his albums, he expressed dissatisfaction with the financial aspects. “I went platinum, but when I saw the check, it felt like a letdown,” Shaq admitted. “Understanding the term ‘recoup’ was eye-opening. I had to fight for my money, but I made sure to enjoy the creative process and collaborate with the artists I admired.”

The re-release of You Can’t Stop The Reign offers fans a unique opportunity to hear this previously shelved track. Shaq’s return to the music scene not only brings back the nostalgia of the 90s but also introduces his work to a new audience. With “No Love Lost” finally seeing the light of day, hip-hop enthusiasts have much to look forward to.
