DaBaby Declares Himself Better Than Hip-Hop’s “Big Three” After New Album Release

Following the release of his latest studio project, Be More Grateful, DaBaby is making bold claims about his place in hip-hop. During a recent interview with Apple Music, the rapper confidently stated that he believes he outperforms some of the biggest names in the game—including J. Cole, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar.

In the interview, DaBaby didn’t hold back, describing himself as the best rapper alive and emphasizing that his confidence isn’t just talk—it’s something he genuinely stands by. He pointed to his long-standing belief in his own abilities, noting that he’s been expressing this level of confidence since the early stages of his career.

A key part of his argument centers on versatility. According to DaBaby, his ability to adapt across different styles and deliver in a wide range of musical settings sets him apart from his peers. He explained that, at his core, he can go head-to-head with any top-tier rapper purely off skill and performance.

Despite the competitive tone, DaBaby made it clear there’s no bad blood. In fact, he expressed interest in collaborating with all three artists, suggesting that his bold statements are also a way of opening doors for future creative partnerships.

The interview comes on the heels of Be More Grateful, which dropped earlier this year and marks his latest addition to an already active catalog. As part of the rollout, DaBaby is also preparing to host his own music festival in North Carolina on June 13, further expanding his presence beyond just recording.

Meanwhile, The New York Times recently recognized Kendrick Lamar as one of the greatest living American songwriters, adding another layer to the ongoing conversation about where today’s top rappers stand in the culture.
