NBA YoungBoy is no stranger to online confrontations, and this time, the Baton Rouge star found himself at odds with streamer and commentator PlaqueBoyMax over a simple music review.

The situation began when PlaqueBoyMax reacted to “Headtap,” a track from YoungBoy’s Slime Cry era. While acknowledging that he’s a longtime fan of YB, Max admitted during a Twitch stream that he wasn’t feeling the record. “YoungBoy ain’t been missing for me,” he said, “but I don’t like this song.” The clip quickly circulated on social media, sparking conversation among fans.

YoungBoy didn’t take the criticism lightly. He responded on social media with a heated message aimed directly at Max, accusing him of moving funny and telling him not to reply. The post instantly intensified the situation, drawing attention from fans and fellow creators.

Max, clearly caught off guard, addressed the response live on stream. He maintained that his comments weren’t meant to be disrespectful, emphasizing that offering honest feedback is part of his platform. “If I don’t like something, I’m going to say it,” he explained, adding that he’s praised YoungBoy’s music many times in the past. According to Max, he even reached out to YB’s team to clarify that his critique came from a genuine place.

The back-and-forth soon caught the attention of DJ Akademiks, who discussed the issue on stream and suggested there may have been a misunderstanding. Akademiks noted that YoungBoy typically doesn’t engage in disputes over single-song opinions, hinting that the rapper may have interpreted the reaction differently.

For now, it appears to be a clash between artist sensitivity and reviewer honesty. Whether the two will settle things privately or let the moment fade remains to be seen, but the exchange highlights how quickly opinions can spark controversy in today’s streaming era.
