She’s So Vain…
“Beauty Queen” is a music video release from Radiofix, driven by a fiery single featured on their latest album “Meet Me At The End”. I feel like I’m “early” on Radiofix and always enjoy bragging to my friends about discovering incredible musicians first. The Valley of the Sun outfit hits you with all the feels accompanied by quality Rock and Roll music.
Phoenix’s Radiofix says “Beauty Queen” is “a guitar rock song about people out there, we all know, who get lost in their vanity.” The music video begins with old-school beauties in black and white and transitions into (an element of) the band’s signature sound: powerful, expressive vocals and killer guitar.
The track’s muse is compared to the sunshine which works quite well because we might need her but staring directly at her for too long might not be a bright (I’m sorry) idea. There’s always that chance things between you and her will just turn dark, and a “Beauty Queen” can produce similar results; both leaving us without the sustenance we got used to and now crave as a result. The guitar in the final moments of the song is a particular standout, and Radiofix sends a lovely message by transforming into their own beauty queens: you don’t need anyone else to love yourself!
