Katharine Mae Groethe AKA “Penny Mae” started singing at the age of 9. She was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. She always knew she was very creative and channeled that creativity this summer writing music. When writing music she stated it is very important to discuss current events/issues in the world.

She recently did an interview on HipHopsince1987.com she stated her next move is to shoot a music video along with recording an album this summer. She wants to experiment with her taste of music and try and push the boundaries. She likes to write about subjects that are taboo and also wants to normalize things women say that is right now considered improper.

Her main goal while writing music is to help others that feel misunderstood. She discussed what she is working on in her interview on HipHopsince1987.com “I would like to do an R & B album, and I really wanna incorporate some meaningful messages about mental health.” Check her out in the links below.
