We are currently in 2021 and the pandemic is still going strong with the fact that artist’s all over are barely making any money due to the fact almost all the entertainment venues are closed down. It’s a very critical time for the music industry and rappers are struggling more than ever to stay afloat.

From DJ’s to the majority of every single mainstream artist has been affected in some way due to the pandemic so like they say “despite times comes to despite measures” all over Instagram and Facebook since the pandemic hit rappers, DJ’s and tastemakers been finessing and taking advantage of independent artists promising major opportunities such as a feature or a slot to be on a mixtape hosted by such artist nor Dj.

As an indie artist that sounds like a great opportunity unfortunately in this case it’s not. Rappers and DJs have separate accounts aside from the main one that they use so instead of reaching a massive following by sharing it on their verified platform with thousands and millions of followers. They are using their second account to promote such projects with little to no followers nor traction.

As independent artists thinking they’re getting their big shot to catch the “big break” they anticipate by working with their favorite artists, imagine the thought of paying 1 thousand dollars or more just to end up with no results. shaking my head upon these artists taking advantage of the independence.
